Dear Listers,
I am new to the group and am trying to connect ANNA (Nancy) OYSTER to the
correct OYSTER family of the Berks County, PA area. Any help for her
parents, and to confirm a daughter named MARY YODER would be greatly
appreciated.
Anna (Nancy) Oyster married PETER YODER on Aug. 17, 1784 in Oley Township,
Berks, PA.
He died on Oct. 24, 1817 in Rockland Township, Berks, PA and she was widowed
with the following children:
Hanna Yoder b. 1783 married Abraham Mensch in 1805.
Esther Yoder b. about 1785 married Daniel Focht before 1817.
Benjamin Yoder b. about 1787 married Nancy Miller in 1811. He died by
10/16/1816.
Daniel Yoder b. 1789 married Mary LaRosa in 1815.
Elizabeth Yoder b. 1791 married Abraham Strohm in 1811.
Sarah Yoder b. about 1799 married Henry Dengler by 1820.
George Yoder married Margaret Shickel.
MARY YODER b. 6/02/1803 married by 1825 JAMES PANCOAST in Berks area.
She died March 1896 and is buried in Republic, Seneca Co., OH at
Farewell Retreat Cemetery
He died 7/22/1849 and is buried in Upper Sandusky, Wyandot Co., OH at
Mission Cemetery.
I have a number of Berks Co. land records showing James Pancoast and wife,
Mary, bought property from ANNA OYSTER, GEORGE YODER (mary's brother and
wife, margaret).
From Berks Co. I recently received the Interstate papers of PETER YODER, who
died Oct. 24, 1817 in Rockland Township, Berks, PA. Here is a summary of
some of the pages:
