Glad to help you, Annette. The Heritage Quest I used is free and online through the libraries. You need a valid Library card and then you can access it from home. It has some of the 1880 for some of the states, but not all. It also has the 1930 censuses that are indexed in different states. TX is online but LA is not for 1930.
Annete, I also found this link last night and after reviewing it closer this morning, I found Heads listed. I don't know where this came from and who entered all the info, but I found it by googling the Rutledge Cemetery in Poteet, TX. I just clicked on it and was amazed at all the Landrum information available. Finding the surname list at the bottom of the page leads to all the names listed. It is fascinating. The link is http://beejay1.tripod.com/index2.htm.
Coleen Hardin is researching the Heads and it interested in the "Descendants of Henry Head".
On a separate matter, my husband Jim is the 2nd GGS to Margaret Ann Grant through the marriage of WR Mitchell in Jan 1880 at Cadeville. Both are buried at Riverview Cemetery off of S. Grand in Monroe. Anyway, Jim's RevWar ancestor is Michael Gaar, born Culpeper VA about 1736. This is found on page 64 of the GARR Genealogy book maintained at the Genealogy Dept., OP Public Library. Jim is attempting to set a marker for Michael at his brother and sister-in-law, George Gaar and (Page 70 Gaar Gen) Mary Rucker Gaar's grave at Van's Creek Baptist Cemetery at Ruckersville, GA. If the Winn Gaar buch is interested, I keep you posted. If not, let me know and I won't worry you.

Looks like you found them. Thanks
Now to just straighten out the parents. I feel James named his first
daughter Margaret after his mother. And they are living next door to his brother
Marshall, but there is still a few things bugging me. Guess I am just a
genealogist <grin>
Thanks. I should have looked at the census, but since I had the stoke 2
years ago I have let all my online subscriptions go. Time to renew and go back
to work.
If you need a lookup I have one of those photocopy books of 1850 Morgan Co
GA.

Annette, I was nosing around Heritage Quest tonight and threw in Head and
1860. I checked AL and GA and came up empty. When I clicked on LA, there was a
listing for a Jas Head, age 56 from GA living in Clairborne Parish, Lisbon
PO. I think this is who you are looking for. I don't know who the children were
in the 1850 census, but the Jas is the right age and the P is possible
Permelia, from SC. It is Series M653, Roll 410, Page 604.
