Subject: RUSSIAN QUESTION

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, first.
Now, does anybody have any ideas or suggestions about getting info
from Russia ? My brother-in-law has requested I do some lookups for
him, but I really don't know where, how to start.

MARY ELIZABETH HAWN immigrated to the US in 1913, from Merkel,
Russia. She was in her 20's.
He has no other info on her. Not much, for sure. But we've worked with
less. I am going to check the Ellis Island site, but there must be some
way to do some research in Russia, itself.
Ideas, suggestions, anything.....
