In case this did not get posted in the last two days...

Does anyone know what became of this man? He was somewhat famous for a time
having been the Captain of Guard at a Florida prison in the 1880's and an
author. Born about November 1849 Georgia to Samuel W. POWELL and Harriet PACE.
Had a brother, William F. POWELL who also worked at the Florida prison camp for
a time. He was married to Elizabeth (Ann Elizabeth) MILLS in 1869 Georgia.
Their children that I know of were Thomas (1870 GA), Samuel N. (1874 GA), and
Fannie (1876 FL, married a WALKER).

I have a possibility that he may have died in Covington County Alabama
(married to Sarah with her sons Ralf P. and Otis). No way to confirm so far.

RC in Texas, formerly from Iowa
