Hi
I have two Jones lines. I will start with my great-great-great-grandmother's
first and will send my great-great-grandmother's in another message.
Sarah JONES was baptized at St. Mary's Church, Ruabon, Denbs., on
11 Oct 1798. She married Abraham SINKER on 10 Feb 1817 at St.
Mary the Virgin Church, Overton, Flintshire. Sarah (Jones) Sinker died
at Hawarden, Flintshire on 1 March 1873 and is buried with her husband
at St. Deniol's churchyard, Hawarden.
Sarah Jones' parents were Edward JONES and Ann __________ of
Yellow Oak, in the township of Dynhynlle Issa, Parish of Ruabon,
County of Denbighshire. Edward Jones was buried on 31 Oct 1818
and is buried at St. Mary's, Ruabon. In an Indenture of 1823, Yellow
Oak was sold which included a pew at St. Mary's Church, Ruabon, to
Edward YOUDE, Esq., of Plas Madoc. Listed in the Indenture were
the names of the children of Edward & Ann Jones, including their
spouses:
i. Peter Jones of Cae Coch, Denbighshire, cordwainer
ii. John Jones of Cefn Mawr, Denbighshire, labourer
iii. Edward Jones of Trevor, Denbighshire, farmer and Maria his wife
iv. Ann Jones of Llangollen, Denbighshire & Thomas DAVIS her husband,
cordwainer
v. Jane Jones of Mold, Flintshire & Robert JONES her husband, miner
vi. Sarah Jones of Mold, Flintshire & Abraham SINKER her husband, labourer
vii. Mary Jones of Yellow Oak, Denbighshire, Spinster
viii. Elizabeth Jones of Wrexham, Denbighshire, Spinster
I think that Ann ________ might be EDWARDS because Edward
Edwards of Erbistock, Denbighshire, farmer, is named in Edward
Jones' will as being his brother-in-law. Also Williams Jones is named
in Edward Jones' as being his grandson in 1819.
I THINK that I might have found Jane JONES of Mold and her
husband Robert JONES in the Mold registers where he was listed
as being a labourer, miner & sawyer at the times of his children's
baptisms and they are:
i. Martha JONES bpt. 6 Oct 1821
ii. John JONES bpt. 25 Oct 1823
iii. Margaret JONES bpt. 30 Dec 1825
iv. Edward JONES bpt. 16 Sep 1828
That is about as far as I have gotten with this line, which is more
than I could have hoped for. It would be nice if someone could
connect but I don't hold out much hope. - Ed
