Do you have any Powell's listed in your family? Several Osborne's are buried in the Stratton Cemetery outside Tram in Floyd County along with my great grandmother Effie Powell and her son Ballard Powell.
Thanks,
Jim Powell

Message Board Post:

Mr. Wells,
I just today came across your Osborne Message board post of 8 Mar 2005. Stephen Osborne and Nancy Brown were also my g-grandmothers parents and Ira Osborne was her brother. Her name was Malinda Osborne Fannin. I have been looking for information on Ira for many years. I would like to ask you, or anyone else about a William Fannin born about 1870, he married my Malinda A. Osborne and had two children Charles Bryan Fannin born 1896 in Inez, and Dora Alice Fannin born 1899 in Van Lear. They all lived for a time around Paintsville, Van Lear, Johnson County area. Around 1900 something happened to William Fannin. In the 1900 Johnson County census Malinda and children was listed as a widow living with her parents. Shortly afterwords they all wound up in Virginia. Malinda, her children, Stephen and Nancy Osborne are in Scott/Wise County Viginia.
I was told by g-aunt Dora that Ira came to Virginia several times to visit with them back at Osborne Rock near High Knob and into Dungannon in Scott County, Virginia.
I am in need of information on William Fannin and his side of the Family as well as anything on the Osborne side.
Thanks for taking the time to help in the Osborne search.
Denny Fannin
