Hello LOUNSBURY searchers!
I am seeking a marriage record or any other record of a Lydia LOUNSBURY and
an Isaac PURDY, married c1790, in the state of New York, or in Canada. Lydia
is believed to be the daughter of Epenetus LOUNSBURY, shown in the 1790 census
of Courtlandt Town, Westchester County, New York.
This couple show up in the 1800 census of Orange County, NY, where they lived
to raise nine children, until the death of Isaac, in 1827. They may have been
children of Loyalists, who went to Canada in 1783, and returned to the states,
as adults, by 1800.
I have not had been able to find a death record of Lydia, or any real
evidence of the parentage of either Lydia or Isaac. The only clues to Lydia's
parents is the name of Epenetus, which was given to their eldest child, and
Isaac's birth date of 1771, in Rye, near by Courtlandt Town, in Westchester
County, NY.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Jim Campbell
