Thank you Pat; I need all the help I can get. I have found Sullivan's listed but since there are so many with the same name it gets confusing. I try to go by the dates I have also and match up. As soon as I can find a church in co. Kerry I will send for birthcertificates.

Sorry to say, civil registration didn't take place in Ireland until
1864, so what you would need to do is get a church baptism. While my
mother in law was born at the tip of the Dingle Peninsula in County
Kerry and I have been there, I don't have much experience in Co. Kerry
research. However, if you don't know where in County Kerry, the
technique to find the parish would be to search the Griffith's Valuation
and the Tithe Apploments for find where your surname is located.
Sullivan is a fairly common name so you will have some work.
Here is the GV index on line, you can start there. It was completed in
County Kerry in 1852-3 and even it your family left before that period,
they probably had relatives still in Ireland.

One caution with this index, it is faulty, especially for County
Tipperary where the most of the civil parishes leave out names starting
A to L.
While the above site is free, I prefer a subscription site which is
fairly inexpensive. It has a great index and you can copy and print the
actual pages of the GV. It is at:
