The American Canadian Genealogy Society has been copying Catholic records
throughout northern New England and upstate NY for a number of years. There
is a local coordinator in Albany who copies the records when permission is
received. He then solicits volunteers to help computerize them. They are
then sent to the main office in Manchester, NH and they publish the books
for sale. The records themselves are not available online, though the list
of publications is at www.acgs.org. Look under Catalog. Many libraries
purchase the ones that pertain to their local area. I just noticed that
some are now available on CD.
I know St. Joseph's was copied awhile back, but I don't know if the
records have been fully computerized yet. They're not in the list for sale
yet.
