1907:
About 2;30 AM a ferry employee sees suspicious activity on the river. A
small skiff with 3 men on board crosses over from Watervliet and pulls alongside
the 30 ‘ naphtha launch owned by Grant S. Fisher of Catskill. Knowing who’s
boat it is the ferryman calls Fisher at the Mansion House hotel on
Washington Square. Fisher arrives just as the boat was cut loose. The determined
Fisher follows the boat till he reaches the South Troy Canoe club, where he puts a
pursuit vessel in the water. The thieves give up their prize and cut the
launch, worth $2000.00 then (about $30,000.00 now) loose.

polling places because he fears a bitter fight. For Republicans, Third Ward
Alderman Fred E Oothout,faces dissident David Cheney for his seat. City
Treasurer Arthur T. Smith and J.L.Manny, a merchant tailor arrive too late to
contest Oothouts endorsement.
A collision takes place in Lansingburgh at the intersection of 112th and 2nd
Ave when 2 United Traction streetcars sideswipe each other. One person is
injured.
