I am not related to Johnny Evers but I can tell you that some of his family
is still in the area. My son went to school at LaSalle Institute in Troy
with a Mark Evers who is directly related, played some great college
baseball for St. Bonaventure's and had been looked at by some of the Major
League teams (he may have even been picked up for a short time). His dad
who is also named Mark is currently town supervisor for the Town of North
Greenbush but I don't remember if he ever played ball as I was not familiar
with them at that time.
