OK, so this name is German, not Irish. But it IS Troy! My
Steinway/Steinweg (Jacob) was from Hesse Cassel (Bavaria) Germany prior to
coming to Troy (1856). Maybe one of the piano Steinway's! (I'm told it's a
relatively small line in Germany.) It is around the same time that Henry
came over (1851). And to the Port of New York, too. My Steinway said "no"
to piano's, though, and came upstate to Troy.
