The hall is decorated in American colors and paintings and pictures of the
national,state and county candidates,together with portraits of George Washington
and William McKinley. Republican Club president Frank Ames predicts a
Republican turnout and th estate committee has sent A.Elmwood Corning of Newburgh
as the speaker. Also speaking is County Judge Michael A. Tierney, who tells
the crowd, former sheriff Victor M. Allen has recently hired as a Berlin bank
cashier and notes people trust him with their money.”
