Exactly! On the 1900 census in Chicago, my great-grandparent's
information was all wrong - I had enought to know that. And I was so
disappointed, since that is such a revealing census. I finally
realized one of the kids - there were 15, with still about 8 living
at home - had to have given the data. Everything about the adults was
wrong, but when it got to the youngest kids, it was dead on. I've
been doing census for about forty years, and have encountered all
kinds of mistakes. Always consider that a younger person, or an in-
law, even a neighbor could be giving the info and although well-
meant, is not necessarily true. Marianne Arnold
