Kristin,
There should be here should be a tombstone. I went to the national achieve
and read a disposition that James F. McCarty Jr was part of. The spelling of
his last name came into question, because sometimes there was a "h" added.
His response was "lately I have been fancied putting a "h" in the spelling,
but it is spelled without a "H" just as it is written on my fathers
tombstone" I hope his tombstone is still legible and upright. I believe
JFM sr. died about 1876 and JFM Jr died in 1911,( his wife died in 1923)
I would assume that JFM Jr would have a flag on his grave since his grave is
listed with the veterans. I do not know if they are buried together.

Do you know if there is a map of the yard ? Are their plot numbers ?
I would love someday to make the 7 hour trip to pay my respects..

Thank you kindly! You have no idea on how much I appreciate it!

The records are with the Dept of Parks and Recreation in Troy. They
are in total disarray and this is a project TIGS would love to take on,
BUT right now we have several intensive projects in the works.
If they have a stone I would try to find for you. They, just this
week, gave the cemetary a good mow job and it is not far from my home.
There are still over grown sections, but not too bad right now.
If they don't have a stone I can't help out....Kristin

Kristin
James F McCarty. His wife is buried there too (Mary). His father James
F.
McCarty is there too. (Her name is Mary too, I think) I am not sure if
he
is in the same plot.

Is there a listing somewhere that I can find either/both of them?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi!

Does anyone know who is responsible for placing flags on military grave
sites? Would they possibly have a list of names and grave sites? or are
there just flag holders to determine where the flags go?

Joe

Does anyone have a schematic of new Mt Ida Cemetery?

I was hoping to be able to find a grave in there, but is sounds like
that
would be impossible.

He would be a registered Military Man who died with a invalid pension ,
so I
would hope that there would be some flags put on graves there. They
have him
listed in the military graves sites at the government level.
