List members may be interested in the latest data base added to the Troy Irish Genealogy Website www.rootsweb.com/~nytigs/ which was developed from information provided by the Rensselaer County Historical Society, Troy, New York.

Click on PROJECTS and then click on TOOHEY FUNERAL HOME RECORDS. Data base covers 806 records of individuals buried by the William A. Toohey & Sons Funeral Home, 543 Second Avenue & 114th Street, Troy (Lansingburgh), NY during the years 1902 through 1919.

The records will show:

NAME - Middle initials or middle names are indicated for a number of the records.

AGE - In 60 of the records, age is listed as ADULT while 4 records have the age as UNKNOWN. In the case of the children's names, 4 records show STILLBORN, 9 records show INFANT, 6 records show CHILD and 25 records show hours or days as the age. These stillborn and infant records may reveal a relative that was unknown to you.

YEAR OF DEATH - It would have been nice to have the day and month of death, but only the year was available for this data base.

Hopefully this new data base will be useful to Troy area genealogy researchers.
