Denny - originally from Killenaule, Tipperary, Ireland. Seven sibilings
immigrated to Troy in the 1850-60. Margaret m. Thomas Fogarty , John m Mary(?),
James m. Catherine Shinners , Thomas m. Margaret Cahill , Judith (Joanna) m.
Edmund Delehanty in Fethard, Tipperary, Ireland and then immigated, Mary
(unmarried) and Walter m. Mary A. Cummings .




Shinners - Catherine m. James Denny 1857 at St. Peter's Church. Immigrated prior
to this with three sibling Mary m. Owen McGovern , Bridget m. Michael O'Mara ,
and William H Shinners who was killed at Dutch Gap, Virginia in the Civil War. I
have not been able to account for two other siblings Margaret and Richard.




Darrigan - ( Dargan, Derogane ) Laurence married Alice Lannigan in Fethard,
Tipperary, Ireland in 1811. They had six children Timothy(1815), Alice(1817),
Margaret (1820), John (1825), Catherine (1820), Mary 1830. John immigrated with
brother Timothy in 1852 and naturalized in Troy in 1854. John Darrigan m.
Bridget Moran (one of brick walls)




Gallagher - Three brothers immigrated from Cappamore, Limerick, Ireland in the
1870-1880.(Denis, Thomas and John) John Gallagher married Bridget Ryan . Their
children: John m Elizabeth Curtain , Norah m. James Kennedy , Ellen(Helen)
unmarried, Michael m. Hildra Richards , Catherine m. Mahlon Richards , and Mary
Agnes m. Walter Smith .




I am attempting to do research on Gallaghers in Troy NY in the hope of sorting
out different families. Some surnames that are associated with Gallagher's are
McConville, Ryan, Hamil, Crowley, Broderick.
