Dr. Mary Burke, Associate Professor of English at UConn, is the author of Tinkers: Synge and the Cultural History of the Irish Traveller (Oxford University Press, 2009). A specialist on modern Irish literature, she has been at UConn since 2004 and was awarded the 2009 College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Research Excellence Award in the Humanities.
