Lima Daily News, July 31, 1917

Abram HARROD, died this morning at 4:15 o'clock, at the home of his
granddaughter, Mrs. R.T. KUHNS, 748 west High street. His death was caused
from paralysis from which he has suffered for the past five months. He was
born in Mercer county, April 27, 1850 and at the time of his demise, he had
reached the age of 67 years.
Previous to his illness he had occupied a position as a traveling salesman
with a prominent firm, which position he held for a number of years. At one
time he was county recorder for Allen county and will be remembered by a
large number of friends. Besides his granddaughter with whom he lived, two
sons, Robert of Kansas City, Kansas and Burt, of Hayward, Calif., are
surviving relatives. The burial services will be held from the late
residence on High street, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. M.B. FULLER,
of the Methodist church, will conduct the services and interment will be
made in Woodlawn cemetery.

Orval Marshal BOWERSOCK, was born December 16, 1877, departed this life July
23, 1917, aged 39 years, seven months and eight days. He was united in
marriage to Alta HAINES April 4, 1906. To this union was born one daughter,
Evelyn, aged nine, and one son, Lavon, age seven. Besides the widow and two
children, he leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel BOWERSOCK, one
sister, Mrs. W.J. LONG, of near Allentown, and one brother, J.W. BOWERSOCK,
of Lima, and a host of friends and relatives. Very few have suffered a more
real and personal bereavement in the passing of our beloved husband, son and
father.
Mere words are too weak to portray the full height and depth, and length and
breadth of the feelings that engulf his kin and friends at this time. Indeed
a prince in every sense of the term, faithful, loyal and sincere. He loved
his family; he was charitable towards the faults of others, but
uncompromising in his personal standards of purity and honor. Truly an
honest, faithful servant has gone to his eternal reward.
