I have the FHL film # 0914849 - Index to Hardin Co., Ohio Births and Deaths 1867-1908 on indefinite loan. I checked for your Jonah Davis and did not find him in the index.

I have several people that I can't find death records for in the time period of 1867-1908. In most of the records I have seen for 1867-1908 (in several counties), the births and deaths were reported once a year, usually around March/April/May. This may account for some of our problems!
