Folks,

It's a virus, check the following Microsoft website:

HIGHLY recommend that you

1) Have an up-to-date virus protection software; this will catch 99% of
virus, if used correctly

2) When in doubt check the web for information on virus hoaxes, there
are plenty of reputable websites. As a Computer Tech I've seen many
individuals delete files based on similar messages and then have
problems with their computer -- seen many people lose entire files.

Subject: [Tri-Counties] Teddy Bear Virus - jdbgmgr

Folks,

The Teddy Bear virus - It effects the Address Book.

The following information is from Betty Lewis....

A virus has been passed on to me by a contact. My address book was
infected. Since you are in my address book, there is a good chance you
will find it in your computer too. The virus, called jdbgmgr.exe is not
detected by Norton or McAfee antivirus systems. The virus sits quietly
for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by
messanger and by the address book, whether or not you sent e-mails to
your contacts. Here's how to check for the virus and get rid of it:

YOU MUST DO THIS.
1. Go to start, find or search option.

2. In the file folder option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe or jdbgmgr.*
(* will get all files)

3. Be sure to search your C:drive and all sub-folders and all other
drives you may have.

4. Click "find now"

5. The virus has a Teddy bear icon with the name jdbgmgr.exe or any
other file ..DO NOT OPEN IT.

6. Go to Edit (on the menu bar) and choose "select all" to highlight the
file without opening it.

7. Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select delete. it will then send
it to the Recycle Bin. (Be sure to delete it from the Recycle Bin - DO
NOT OPEN IT).

8. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS YOU MUST CONTACT ALL THE PEOPLE ON YOUR ADDRESS
BOOK, SO THEY CAN ERADICATE IT IN THIER OWN ADDRESS BOOK. To do this:

a. Open a new e-mail message.

b. Click on the icon of the address book next to the "to"

c. Highlight every name and add to "BCC" (Blind Copy)

d. Copy this message and enter subject paste to e-mail.

SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE

I found two icons on my C drive and received another Virus Alert Here it
is:

PLEASE READ VERY CAREFULLY BELOW!

IMPORTANT WARNING:

Please Be Extremely Careful Especially if using internet mail such as
Yahoo, Hotmail and so on. This information arrived this morning, from
Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who accesses
the internet. You may receive an apparently harmless email with a Power
Point presentation "Life is beautiful.pps" If you receive it DO NOT OPEN
THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and delete it immediately . If you
open this file, a message will appear on your screen saying: It is too
late now, your life is no longer beautiful", subsequently you will LOSE
EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the person who sent it to you will gain access
to your name, E-mail and password. This is a new virus which started to
circulate on Saturday afternoon. WE NEED TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO
STOP THIS VIRUS: AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the anti
virus
Softs are not capable of destroying it. The virus has been created by a
hacker who calls himself "life owner", PLEASE MAK A COPY OF THIS EMAIL
AND SEND TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS
