Subject: [SEAMONS] Whatever happened to Joseph Josiah Seamons?
Date: Sun, 23 Dec 2007 10:19:26 +1100

Hi List,

I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who has any details on Joseph
Josiah Seamons, son of Joseph Seamons and Anna Maria Peck. Joseph and Anna
had 3 surviving sons, one being Edmund William Seamons, born 1830. I have
recently had contact with a descendant from Edmund's line, who has filled in
many gaps of 6 generations of descendants from Edmund William.

Joseph Josiah was the eldest son of Joseph and Anna and was born in 1827;
along with his younger brother Charles Michael Seamons b 1833, he migrated
to Australia in 1852, arriving in Australia in January 1853. With the
knowledge of Charles Michaels' descendants in Australia, the missing
information from Joseph and Anna's family is what happened to the eldest
son, Joseph Josiah.

Did he marry and have children? Did he abandon Australia and head back to
the UK? Did he move elsewhere?

Note that Charles Michael had a son also called Joseph Josiah (b 1863 d
1943), and he should not be confused with Charles brother.

I'm hoping someone out there can shed some light on what happened to the
original Joseph Josiah.

At the same time, I'd like to wish all list members a Merry Christmas and a
safe and happy new year.

Regards

John Seamons
